About us
The Communauté de Base pour l’Encadrement de l’Enfant et de la Famille (CBEEF), a community-based organisation for the support of children and families, was founded in 2007 in Kimbanseke, one of the most densely populated districts of Kinshasa. Its founders started from a simple observation: a child thrives when the mother receives care and the family stands strong.
We work with families in their own neighbourhoods, alongside community health workers, local authorities and the health zone. Our statutes, revised in 2026, extend our work to the whole of the DR Congo and, in time, to sub-Saharan Africa.
“A child thrives when the mother receives care and the family stands strong.”

International meeting
Kinshasa, DR Congo · 22–26 August 2022
Organised by FAO and hosted by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the session focused on the role of forests and wildlife in withstanding and recovering from crises.
Its recommendations include the One Health approach, which links human, animal and environmental health, forest and landscape restoration, and the mobilisation of climate finance – issues at the heart of our maternal health and environment work.
CBEEF delegation: Ephreme Kalonji Monji, President, and Nathan Metelo.
Current projects

Solar panels and batteries power the maternity ward, the laboratory and the vaccine cold chain, even during power cuts.
To open Sainte-Marie hospital, we are looking for individuals, foundations and institutions ready to walk alongside us. Your support can help to:
